We are seeking an experienced and driven individual to join us as a Discovery Project Leader. In this role, you will oversee multiple Discovery projects , guiding them from target validation to pre-clinical candidate  (PCC) . These projects  comprise both small molecules and antibody-based therapeutics, part of the internal pipeline and external collaborations.

Job requirements

  • Lead the scientific and strategic direction of Discovery projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure on-time and on-budget completion. Proactively follow-up on action items and escalate risks/issues, and implement solutions.

  • Integrate and link data from different Discovery teams to ensure data-driven decisions on next steps.

  • Coordinate and manage internal and outsourced Discovery activities, maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

  • Collaborate closely with the different Discovery teams, including Screening&Assay Development, Biologics Discovery, Medicinal Chemistry, Molecular Engineering, Protein Science, Biology, Bio-Analysis and Computer-Aided-Drug-Design team

  • Provide scientific expertise and direction across multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration between internal Discovery staff, CROs, and other stakeholders.

  • Present project results and strategies to the company’s management team, deliver updates and write Discovery Summary reports.

  • Ensure smooth transition to the Development Team at PCC selection stage.

  • Lead communication with partner research teams in collaboration projects,  coordinate data presentation and follow-up on action points.

  • Contribute to new target selection, supported by the supervisor and CSO.


Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent in a scientific discipline, and at least 5 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry and specifically in drug discovery projects is essential (experience in metabolic/endocrine diseases is a plus).

  • Knowledge of and experience in small molecule and/or biologics drug discovery is essential.  

  • Proven experience in Discovery project management is essential.

  • You are a highly collaborative, self-motivated, team-oriented individual, able to work in a fast-paced, highly integrated team environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with  focus accuracy, accountability and timelines are essential

  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluency in English.
