For the expansion of our ICT department we are recruiting a (m/f):
System Administrator
The System Administrator is responsible for maintenance and management of on-premise and cloud systems and provides ICT support in the broadest sense to people in the company and collaborators. She/he will also update, write, implement and maintain the current and future set of policies, standard operating procedures and regulatory documentation.
Job requirements
- Create, implement, maintain and update policies, procedures and regulatory documentation.
- Perform general systems administration in a hybrid environment:
- Windows / Linux (Mainly Ubuntu & Debian)
- On premise / Cloud (Amazon AWS – Oracle OCI – Microsoft Azure)
- In house / Service Provider
- Provide hardware and software support ranging from general helpdesk to server setup and maintenance in collaboration with Confo’s IT service provider.
- Implement, maintain and monitor a secure Active Directory structure as a backbone for file server systems and access control.
- Document and maintain the overview of hard- and software in the company.
Scope & Range of the role/position
The System Administrator will report to the IT Manager on general state of systems and ongoing issues. He/she will flag gaps or issues that should be closed and may have an impact on budget to his/her direct report.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
- Bachelor or Master diploma in an ICT-related education or equivalent through experience.
- Experience as a Systems Administrator, preferably in a Biotech/Pharma.
- Experience writing policies, standard operating procedures and/or regulatory documentation is a plus.
- Expert knowledge of Windows server and client systems:
- Active Directory (local and Azure)
- Microsoft 365 (Mail - Exchange, security, Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), Office suit tools, etc.)
- BitLocker
- Group Policies
- Software packaging and deployment in a Windows setting
- Basic knowledge of VMware, any Linux distribution and SQL server.
- Broad view and understanding of:
- the range of Biotech/Pharma domain specific software is a plus
- general system security concerns and possible vulnerabilities
- At least basic network understanding
- IPv4 (IPv6 would be nice)
- Switches, Firewalling
- VPN
- Eagerness to learn is a given.
- Working accurately
- You like to help people out.
- Enthusiastic and flexible team player in a small company setting.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
